Lessons that Youths and students should learn from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's life.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former Indian president who received "Bharat Ratna", an aerospace scientist who directs the development of India's first indigenous SLV, a writer who inscribes more than 15 books, and a teacher who lived in the heart of lakhs of the student. Some people call him "Missile Man Of India" and other people show their love by calling him People's President but ultimately he was " chacha Kalam" of Indian children. His journey from a physics graduate to an Indian President, from Rameshwaram to Rashtrapati Bhavan, from a newspaper boy to an aerospace scientist is a great source of inspiration for everybody. Whenever Dr. Kalam interacts with youngsters and students he always tries to answer all their questions because he believed that one of the very important characteristics of a student is to ask questions. So with his amazing answers, speeches, books, and actions, he inspired a lot of Young Indians. And here are the few lessons that everybody including Indian Youth and students, can learn from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's life.

Dream Big And Have Great Aim

"Dream, Dream, Dream
Dreams transform into thoughts
And thoughts result in action."

-Abdul Kalam

Whenever Dr. Kalam was asked a question that how did one can become great, he used to chant only one mantra and that is " I will have a great aim, I will continuously acquire knowledge, I will do hard work and I will persevere and succeed." According to Dr. Kalam having a small aim is a crime. Whenever he interacts with students he used to ask them what is their dream. During one such interaction, he asked a student, what will be his mission if he becomes a politician and his answer makes Dr. Kalam smile he said that he will produce billions of Abdul Kamal for India.

Besides being a great scientist, president, and teacher, Abdul Kalam was also a great dreamer. He always inspires young people to dream big and have a great aim in life. And his definition of a dream is unique he believed that "DREAM is not what you see in sleep, DREAM is something which doesn't let you sleep."

Become the captain of problems.

"Don’t Read Success Stories,
You Will Only Get The Message.
Read Failure Stories,
You, Will, Get Some Ideas to Get Success"

- Dr. Abdul Kalam

Talking about failure in one of his interviews Dr. Abdul Kalam said " We should know not only how to handle success but also how to handle failures. I want young people to understand how to manage the failure because any task you do you have to come across a problem. The problem should not become the captain of the individual but the individual should become the captain of problems and defeat the problem and succeed."

Being an aerospace scientist Dr. Kalam himself faced failure many times. The great lesson that Abdul Kalam learned from the failure of SLV-3 in 1979 is that "when the failure occurred leader took it up and when the success came he gives to its team." And that's what Dr. Kalam expects from Indian Youth that they also learn from their failures and keep striving for success.

Fight The Battle- To Discover Unique You.

"All Birds find shelter during the rain. But Eagle avoids rain by flying above the Clouds. Problems are common, but attitude makes the difference."

- APJ Abdul Kalam

While addressing youths Kalam once said that "I learned that every youth wants to be unique but the world around you is doing its best, day and night to make you just everybody else. Whether you want to be you or everybody else? Everybody else is convenient at the first glance but not satisfied with the long vision. The challenge therefore my young friends is that you have to fight the hardest battle which any human being can ever imagine to fight and never stop fighting until you arrive at the destined place that is, unique you."

Kalam always believed that every child is unique and special and that is why he quoted "Some of best brains of the nation may be found on the last benches of the classroom" Abdul Kalam advise youngsters to find the unique out of box idea that can drive them for rest of their lives.

Dedication And Commitment Towards Work.

“Total commitment is the common denominator among all successful men and women.”

- Abdul Kalam

Abdul Kalam can only achieve all this because of his commitment and passion for his work. Even during the last minutes of his life, he was delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong.
