Few Suggested measures And strategies for the betterment of Indian schools.

As Nelson Mandela says, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” And schools are playing an extremely significant role in spreading this weapon among the students and youngsters. Well talking about the Indian education system and Indian schools, then it has always been a favorite topic of debate for politicians but as such, no major modification was made in India's education system until 2020. However, with National Education Policy 2020, the Indian government has attempted to revolutionize Indian schools and the Indian education system. But still, many more improvements are needed in Indian schools to bridge the wide gap between Indian education and International education. So here are a few Suggested measures And strategies for the improvements of Indian schools.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”

-William Butler Yeats

Purpose And Passion Are Equally Important As Percentage

There is no doubt in the fact that percentage,  marks, and grades have become the criteria to judge the student's ability for most people. And hence schools are aiming to produce students with good marks on their mark sheets rather than developing a student who has a sense of purpose in life and a passion to pursue.

Michelangelo had rightly said, "The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." Schools teach their students to score good marks on examinations but rarely emphasize the prominence of purpose in a student's life. Schools should start teaching their students that having a powerful purpose and great goal in life are much more crucial than scoring a good percentage in the examination because an individual without a decent percentage can achieve a lot in life but one without a powerful purpose can never be fulfilled in her/his life.

Backbenchers- The unnoticed talent

"The best brains of the nation may be found on the last benches of the classroom."

-Abdul Kalam

Every school may not produce the toppers of the olympiads and board examinations but surely all schools have hidden gems called backbenchers. Backbenchers are mostly neglected by teachers and schools so is their talent and potential. Instead of criticizing them every time for their annoying activities, they can certainly be appreciated for something they are good at. Every school organizes the felicitation ceremony for toppers but what about the backbenchers. Of course, it doesn't mean that schools should award the student for being a backbencher but surely they deserve some extra effort and encouragement from their teachers and schools.

Expand The Education Beyond The Books.

The first thing that comes to our minds when we think of school is a big building, big classrooms, and a teacher teaching on a blackboard. It happens because most of the Indian schools have confined education only to classrooms. Well, modern schools have integrated activities like sports, dance, music, debate, and drama with education but often these activities get overlooked because of the burden of studies and exams. In junior classes, students give some importance to these activities but as they progressed to higher classes everyone including their parents and teachers expects them to concentrate only on studies. And this is the major setback of Indian schools and the Indian education system. Just like good scores in board examinations can help students to get admission to good colleges similarly these extra curriculum activities prove helpful in the personality development of the student.

"What if Virat Kohli's parents asked him to crack IIT Or What if Lata Mangeshkar's parents expected her to become an IAS?"

Career Counseling Before Colleges.

Young students have big dreams and great ambitions for the future. They have a lot of grand plans for their lives. But problem is that "Young minds are often inexperience minds", they have dreams but they do not know how to fulfill them, they have goals but they don't know how to achieve them. So here the schools can play a great role. They can guide them towards their correct destination. Hiring professional counselors and inviting experienced people to supervise young students toward their future can certainly help the young minds to decide what is good for their future.

Ethics And Education Are Equally Important.

Nowadays schools are trying hard to provide a world-class education to their students. Schools are hiring highly qualified teachers skilled professionals to teach Maths, Science, Commerce, and Arts to their young children but somewhere pedagogy of ethics left behind. In today's world where everyone is in the race to go ahead of each other, it becomes extremely essential that students can differentiate between right and wrong. Students should not only learn how to top the class and how to crack competitive exams they should always be conscious of helping others and playing their part of responsibility towards society and country.
