Some solutions to end unemployment in India.

India has a total population of 135.26 crores with 31 million jobless people living in the country as of 2018. So this is very evident that unemployment is a major challenge in India. Large population, lack of required skills, low productivity of the agriculture sector, illiteracy are some of the causes of unemployment in India. So here the few possible solutions to unemployment in India

Skill Development

"The more we give importance to skill development, the more competent will be our youth."

Whether it's a Labor working in the construction field or an engineer employed in a multinational company both have skills but the difference is that the first one gets paid on the daily basis with a very small amount and later gets lakhs of rupees for her/his skill. So before jumping to skill development people have to understand the importance and need for different skills around them and then accordingly they can learn and develop various skills. The second thing that people need to keep in mind is that having a skill is not enough we have to learn to utilize these skills to solve problems around us and so that we can make some money from our skills.

And this idea of skill development must begin with schools and colleges. In 2019 the estimated youth unemployment rate in India was at 23.34 percent and blaming the government solely for not creating enough employment is not justified but we have to accept that somewhere Indian youth is lacking the required skills. And if schools and colleges starting to focus on skill development rather than just producing scholars, then this situation can be improved. Other than colleges and schools, the government can start their programs which focus on enhancing the skills of unemployed people in our country.

Financial and social support to young entrepreneurs and new start-up ideas.

I consider entrepreneurs as India's 'Growth Ambassadors': Narendra  Modi

A lot of young Indians are directing towards an entrepreneurial culture and are aiming to begin their start-ups. And these young people are breaking the stereotype that the government is only responsible for creating employment in India and hence their innovative ideas are solving the problems of our country as well as creating employment in the country. For example, Unacademy, Edtech startup, and today the largest online learning platform of India is providing free education to millions of students, and on another side, it is allowing many teachers to showcase their teaching skills on this big platform. Zomato, an Indian food delivery start-up, is a perfect example that how can entrepreneurs solve major problems of India and can also provide employment to a lot of Indians.

Well, the Indian government has also put efforts to encourage entrepreneurs and support startups. Startup India Initiative, Atal Innovation Mission,  High Risk - High Reward Research, Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme are some of the initiatives taken by the Indian government to help the entrepreneurs.

Investing in the rural population.

70% of the Indian population lives in rural areas so it's very apparent that if India wants to solve the problem of unemployment then a lot of investment needs to be done in rural. And here we just not talking about financial investments, but also about educational, medical, transportation-related investment because all these factors somehow affect the employment of the nation.

The government should launch schemes and programs and also provide initial funding to support rural youth to start small businesses and enterprises which will later grow into big firms and companies. The government should also take care of the fact that the rural population should be aware of all beneficial government schemes.

The right to work in 625 districts of India and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 are few initiatives to encourage the rural population of India.

Encouraging women to get out of social norms and start something of their own.

"Women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world." : Hillary Clinton

48.4% of the Indian population is women and hence it becomes very important that this 48.04 % population channelize their energy in the right direction. So let's be fair and accept that our ideal Indian society expects women to do 9.00 to 5.00 jobs. And when these women start stepping towards entrepreneurship and unconventional career options people (you and I) start doubting their abilities and at times try to push them back. But today Indian women are breaking all the norms and women like Falguni Nayar, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Shradha Sharma are motivating other women to take steps towards their dream. So it's time to encourage Indian women to invest their skills in the development of the country.

Millions of Indian women are cooking food for their families every day then why they can't be safe and restaurant owners, lakhs of Indian ladies are stitching clothes for kids then why they can't be a professional tailor, and crores of women are managing their houses gracefully then why they can't be a wedding planner. And if Indian women get determined to wisely use their talent and skills and get proper support from society and government then they just not become independent but will also help others to become self-sufficient by creating employment.
